First Day is here!
The first day of school is finally here.
We cannot wait to see you tomorrow morning, bright and early. Thank you to all of our families who attended the Paleta Fiesta/Meet-the-Teacher yesterday. We had a great turn out and a lot of fun.
Last minute reminders
Morning Arrival:
Set everything out tonight and get to bed early. Give yourself extra time to get to arrive. Be patient and observe all traffic and parking laws. All staff will be out supporting students walking to their lines. No parents/guardians are to enter the gate for any reason. Please do not crowd the gate.
Dismissal:
Tomorrow (Thursday 8/13) and Friday (8/14) are minimum days. TK to 3rd dismissed at 12:10 and 4th to 6th dismissed at 12:25. Teachers will walk students to the front gate for pick-up unless they are fully registered for ThinkTogether.
ThinkTogether:
All fully registered students will attend and our younger students will be picked up at their classrooms by ThinkTogether staff. Students cannot attend ThinkTogether until registration is fully complete which requires Aeries Income Verification with ThinkTogether registration.
Front Office:
The office staff is incredibly busy these first few days supporting students and staff on campus. Please wait to visit or call the office until at least next week unless it is an emergency or something that cannot wait such as dropping off an epi-pen.
A Word on Combo Classes:
There may be multiple grades in a class. This is a regular MUSD practice at all elementary schools at 1st/2nd, 2nd/3rd, 4th/5th and 5th/6th. If this sounds new and unusual to you, know that it is a familiar and longstanding practice for MUSD and our schools are designed to meet the needs of your child within a larger learning community and within which they reorganize regularly based on students' needs. Your child will receive an excellent education and learn with their grade level peers regardless of being in a same-age or multi-age base. It is likely that all students will be in a multi-age class at some point in their school career. All staff are prepared to support your child with an excellent personalized education and requests out of a combination/multi-age base will not be accommodated. For more information, please see the MUSD handbook under Elementary Combination Classes.
