Empowering Students to Speak the World!

Here we go..... 2026-27 school year

Posted Date: 08/09/26 (06:00 PM)

Hello SuperStar families,

This message is going to be a bit longer than last week’s to make sure we pass on information to have a successful start to the school year.  Please take time to read carefully and plan accordingly with your family.

Paleta Fiesta/Meet-the-Teacher, Tuesday, August 11th, 3-5pm

Class lists will be posted and this event is replacing Back to School Night.  The class rosters will list students by their ID number and not their name for privacy reasons.   Two sets of lists will be posted on the Front Office windows.

First day of school, Thursday, August 13th, 7:55am

We cannot wait to welcome all of our students back to campus.  We strongly recommend that you park in the surrounding neighborhood and walk your child to the gate if you are not using the Drop Off Zone.  Give yourself extra time.  We will be continuing, for our students’ safety, that no adults pass through the Main Gate.  All of our staff will be in front to help students find their classroom line just inside the gate with the teacher they met a few days earlier.  We will be asking families to not crowd the gate as this can overwhelm children trying to walk through the large amount of adults. A quick, positive good-bye helps all students transition into school mode more quickly.  Feel free to practice this routine in the days before school starts.

Minimum Days, Thursday, August 13 and Friday, August 14th

All MUSD Elementary schools have minimum days to begin the school year.  Please make sure to plan for these early dismissal days.  If your child attends ThinkTogether after school, they will proceed there immediately at dismissal.

Reminders:

Office/Forgotten items

We are continuing our policy to not interrupt instruction for items dropped off in the office.  These last few days of summer are a perfect time to figure out the routine for making sure your child has all of their needed items for school each day.  We recommend finding a place, the night before, where everything is collected to not be missed in the rush the next morning.

Drop off zone/Parking Lot

The speed limit is 5 mpg in the parking lot and is one-way.  Do not drive against the marked directional arrows. There are a limited number of visitor spots past the drop off zone for parking.  If your child needs an extended time to exit the vehicle or you need to leave the driver’s seat for any reason, please use these spaces and complete these activities.  Do not park in any spaces marked for staff.  Please pull all the way forward before having your child exit the vehicle.  We ABSOLUTELY will not allow a child to cross through the drop off zone for any reason.

Aeries: Data confirmation/Parent Handbook

Each year, we need parents to log into Aeries and complete their data confirmation and review the Parent Handbook. The data confirmation is vitally important for our school funding and ThinkTogether registration for eligible students.

ThinkTogether Registration

Messages have been sent to families eligible for their students to enroll in ThinkTogether after school.  Enrollment does not automatically roll over from last school year. Registration is not complete until Data Confirmation is completed in Aeries.  If this step is not completed, your student cannot attend ThinkTogether.

We cannot wait to see all of our amazing students very soon.  It is going to be an awesome year.
